MARTIN MILNES – THE FALSETTO
The Falsetto is Martin Milnes’ debut solo show, for which he received five star reviews at the 2009 Edinburgh Festival. The Falsetto was most recently seen at The Pheasantry in Chelsea, and was the support act for Alistair McGowan in a 2009 charity gala in Stratford-upon-Avon. In 2010 Martin performed his first specialist spin-off show The Falsetto Sings Gilbert & Sullivan at the International G&S Festival in Buxton, and will repeat the show there this summer.
Martin won excellent reviews for his falsetto performance as ‘Yum-Yum’ in the all male production of The Mikado at the Union Theatre, Southwark, and in 2010 appeared as ‘Mabel’, singing a falsetto excerpt of “Poor Wand’ring One”, in Gilbert and Sullivan: A Motley Pair, produced by Capriol Films for broadcast on Sky Arts. Martin has also appeared as ‘The Falsetto’ for The Noel Coward Society.
Recent theatre credits include: ‘Crystal’ and ‘Audrey II’ in Little Shop of Horrors (The White Bear, Kennington); ‘The Intriguing Waiter’ in Much Sound and Little Sense (Opera Della Luna); Lead Vocalist in the Thursford Christmas Spectacular ; ‘Cover Major General’ in The Pirates of Penzance (Carl Rosa Opera); ‘Moose’ in Crazy For You (Kilworth House Theatre, Leicestershire); ‘Joe’ in Promises and Lies (Birmingham Rep); The Mikado, Iolanthe and The Pirates of Penzance (Gielgud Theatre, West End); Tosca and Il Trovatore (Opus 1 Opera); The Yeomen of the Guard (The Tower of London).
TV credits include: Popstar to Operastar (ITV); Songs of Praise (BBC); The Welsh In The West End (ITV Wales).
In July 2010 he led the singing at the 70th Anniversary celebrations on Battle of Britain Memorial Day in Folkestone, in the presence of HRH Prince Michael of Kent, honouring the veteran fighter pilots who fought in the conflict.
MICHAEL BAXTER – THE FINGERS (Edinburgh Festival 2009)
Michael was ‘Swing’ in the 25th Anniversary tour of Les Miserables, and has worked as both an actor and musical director since graduating from Guildford School of Acting in 2007.
Most recently he was ‘The Fingers’ for the 2009 productions of The Falsetto and before that was a lead vocalist in the Thursford Christmas Spectacular in Norfolk. He also appeared as ‘LA / Farm Boy’ in Gypsy at the Cardiff Millenium Centre.
Michael was the musical director of The Ladies That Lunch (English Theatre of Bruges), and assistant musical director of Jack and The Beanstalk (Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, Guildford).
Experience at GSA includes ‘Freddie Trumper’ in Chess, ‘Felix Lindor’ in Do Patent Black Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up?, ‘Orville / Francis’ in Elegies for Angels Punks and Raging Queens, and Musical Director of Rent and The Hot Mikado. Michael was also a soloist with the GSA Singers.
MARK STANFORD – THE FINGERS (Canal Café 2010)
Mark read Japanese at Cambridge before training at the Royal Academy of Music. Most recently he appeared in the 2009 UK tour of Dreamboats and Petticoats and played the lead role of ‘Bobby Child’ in Crazy For You at Kilworth House Theatre, Leicestershire.
Other roles include ‘Prince Charming’ in Cinderella (Ipswich); ‘Erik Litnauer’ in Grand Hotel; ‘Claudio’ in Much Ado About Nothing; ‘Tyler’ in Merrily We Roll Along; ‘Merchant’ in The Boys from Syracuse; ‘Paul’ in Barefoot In The Park. He appeared in the 2010 Pitlochry Festival Theatre season in Kiss Me Kate, An Ideal Husband, Rough Crossing and Nana.
Mark plays the piano, clarinet, saxophone and ukulele.
