Maritn’s first “specialist” show, The Falsetto Sings Gilbert & Sullivan will be premiered on Monday August 9th at the International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival in Buxton. He will sing soprano arias alongside tenor and patter numbers from the Savoy Operas. The show begins at 2.30pm in The Octagon.
An excerpt of his falsetto “Poor Wand’ring One” appears in the new Sky Arts TV series Gilbert & Sullivan: A Motley Pair which will be broadcast in September.
In July 2010 (in his tenor voice!) Martin led the singing at the 70th Anniversary celebrations on Battle of Britain Memorial Day in Folkestone, in the presence of HRH Prince Michael of Kent, honouring the veteran fighter pilots who fought in the conflict.
